Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

What are the requirements of this ministry? First, and most importantly, an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion must be a person of deep faith who believes that the Eucharist is truly the Body and Blood of Christ. They are also required to be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.

Many Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion have said that they have felt a calling from God to minister in this area. We strongly encourage individuals to pray before the Blessed Sacrament on a regular basis, so your love for the Eucharist can grow. Before the Mass they are scheduled for, ministers are encouraged to arrive early to prepare themselves spiritually to stand before the assembly and offer them this sacramental gift.

As with our other liturgical ministries, training and formation sessions are offered.
